How can you setup Google Analytics tracking code to your website

What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is web analytics service offered be Google that tracks and reports website traffic, currently as a platform inside the Google Marketing Platform brand.

Google launched the service in November 2005 after acquiring developer Urchin.

Google Analytics is the most widely used web analytics service on the web. Google Analytics provides an SDK that allows gathering usage data from IOS & Android app, known as Google Analytics for mobile apps.

Process to setup your tracking code:

Step 1. Search for Google Analytics on Google search.

Step 2. Click on analytics.google.com

Step 3. Click on Sign up

Step 4. Add your account name. Example: Karan Singh

Step 5. Write your website name. Example: Digital Marketing Tips & Tricks.

Step 6. Add your website URL. Example: http:// www.digitalmarketerkaran.blogspot.com

Note: http:// is already present.

Step 7. Add Industry category. Example: Job & Education.

Step 8. Add reporting time zone. Example: India.

Step 9. Click on get tracking ID, Accept terms & Conditions and continue.

Step 10. Then your tracking ID will be generated. Example: Tracking ID: UA-123456789-1

Step 11. You will see Global site Tag (gtag.js)

Step 12.

note: copy & paste this code as the first item into the <HEAD> of every webpage you want to track.
